Every request to any endpoint (/api/search, /api/article) counts as one API call against your monthly quota. Requests that return a 4xx or 5xx status do not consume your quota.
Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately and are prorated. Downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing cycle. Your accumulated call count is preserved.
Free and Pro plans will receive a 429 Too Many Requests response once the quota is exceeded. You can upgrade at any time to restore access without waiting for the next billing period.
