ABF Freight Tracking

Enter an ABF Freight PRO number (usually 9 digits) to see where your LTL shipment is: the current status, estimated delivery date, pickup and delivery times, and the origin and destination ABF service centers. You can also track by bill of lading, PO, customer reference or pickup confirmation number. Free, no sign-up.

How to track an ABF Freight shipment

  1. Find the PRO number on the PRO label on your freight, your bill of lading or the ABF freight bill. No PRO? Use the BOL or PO number instead.
  2. Choose the reference type that matches the number you have.
  3. Enter the number and select Track. Spaces before or after the number are ignored.
  4. Read the current status, the estimated delivery date and the service centers handling the shipment. Bookmark the result page to check again later.

ABF tracking statuses explained

StepStatusWhat it means
01Pickup CompletedABF has picked up the freight from the shipper and it is at, or on its way to, the origin service center.
02In TransitThe freight is on a linehaul trailer moving between ABF service centers.
03At Destination Service CenterThe freight has reached the service center that will deliver it.
04Out For DeliveryThe freight is on a local delivery truck and will be delivered today.
05DeliveredThe freight has been delivered and signed for. The delivery date, time and signer appear in the status detail.

A shipment can also show an exception (over, short or damaged freight), a transit delay, or a delivery appointment. They appear under the status when ABF reports them.

ABF Freight tracking - FAQ

What is an ABF PRO number?

A PRO number is the tracking number ABF Freight assigns to an LTL shipment when it is picked up. ABF PRO numbers are usually 9 digits. You will find it on the PRO label stuck to the freight, on your copy of the bill of lading, and on the ABF freight bill (invoice).

Can I track ABF Freight without a PRO number?

Yes. Choose a different reference type and enter your bill of lading (BOL) number, purchase order (PO) number, customer reference number or pickup confirmation number instead. A BOL or PO can match more than one shipment; each one is shown separately.

Why is my ABF PRO number not found?

The most common reasons are a typo, a shipment that was picked up only a short time ago and is not in the system yet, or a number that belongs to a different carrier. Check the digits, wait a little and try again, or search by the bill of lading number instead.

What does "At Origin Service Center" mean?

ABF has picked up the freight and it has arrived at the ABF service center (terminal) nearest the shipper. From there it is loaded onto a linehaul trailer toward the destination service center, which delivers it to the consignee.

Does ABF tracking show every scan?

No. ABF's tracking data is a snapshot: the current status, the pickup and delivery dates, the estimated delivery date and any current exception. It does not include a scan-by-scan history of each terminal the freight passed through.

What does a delivery appointment mean on an ABF shipment?

Some consignees, often residential or retail locations, require the delivery to be scheduled in advance. ABF contacts the consignee to set the appointment, and once it is set the tracking result shows the appointment date and time window.

Is ABF Freight the same as ArcBest?

ABF Freight is the less-than-truckload (LTL) carrier owned by ArcBest. ABF shipments are tracked with ArcBest's tracking system, which is the data this page shows.

Is this ABF tracking tool free?

Yes. Tracking is free and needs no account or sign-up. Shipper and consignee names and addresses are not shown.
