Forward Air Tracking

Enter a Forward Air airbill number (8 digits) to see where your shipment is: the status, the route between Forward Air terminals, the estimated arrival and delivery window, and every terminal scan with its time zone. Free, no sign-up.

How to track a Forward Air shipment

  1. Find the 8-digit airbill number on your Forward Air airbill or booking confirmation. The full shipment key (for example DFW-472-12345678-00) works too.
  2. Enter it and select Track. Spaces before or after the number are ignored.
  3. Read the status, the route and the scan history, newest first.

Forward Air tracking - FAQ

What is a Forward Air airbill number?

It is the 8-digit number Forward Air assigns to each shipment, printed on the airbill (Forward Air's waybill) and on your booking confirmation. You can also track with the full shipment key, which looks like DFW-472-12345678-00.

Why is my Forward Air shipment not found?

Check the 8 digits first. Forward Air returns tracking only for shipments billed to the account this tool uses, so a shipment booked under a different account will not be found here; use Forward Air's own tracking for those.

What does "Tendered" mean on a Forward Air shipment?

The freight has been handed over at the origin facility, after pickup and before it departs on a line-haul trailer toward the destination terminal.

What does "Weight changed" mean?

Forward Air reweighed the freight and corrected its chargeable weight. The pieces and weight on this page always show the latest values.

What is the delivery window?

When the shipment has a delivery service, Forward Air schedules a delivery window with the consignee. The window and the estimated arrival at the destination terminal are shown until the freight is delivered.

What time zone are Forward Air times in?

Each scan is shown with the time zone Forward Air recorded it in: PT, MT, CT or ET, or LT for the local time of the facility.

What do terminal codes like LAX or LAS mean?

They are the airport-style codes of the Forward Air terminals that handled the freight, shown next to the city. LAX is Los Angeles and LAS is Las Vegas, for example.

Is this Forward Air tracking tool free?

Yes. Tracking is free and needs no account or sign-up. The names of the people who scanned or signed for the freight, ZIP codes and internal reference numbers are not shown.
